Between 1999 and 2007, the amount of cocaine confiscated at the Dutch borders averaged over 10.000 kilograms each year, and is the most common illicit drug that is intercepted by customs and border officials.
Schiphol Airport, located near Amsterdam, is an important hub for passenger travel and cargo services. The airport is one of the main intercept points of illicit drugs and has it's own specialized facility, part of which deals with intercepted goods and suspected drug traffickers.
Various objects are shown that have been used to traffic cocaine, and are now stored in the facility's archives for educational purposes. The remainder of the images show the sterile environment in which suspected smugglers are processed and where intercepted goods are inspected and disassembled.
